Hand-Wash Do’s and Dont’s

During the global pandemic, people around the world adopted pets, picked up new hobbies, and became experts at hand washing. But for those of you who need a refresher course, here’s a quick breakdown of the art of handwashing.

Proper handwashing is one of the most effective methods of preventing the spread of disease. According to the CDC, you should wash your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds to get rid of germs:

  • Wet your hands with clean, running water

  • Apply soap

  • Lather your hands by rubbing them together with the soap

  • Scrub your hands for at least 20 seconds (pro tip: you can sing happy birthday twice, or the chorus of Jolene)

  • Rinse your hands well under clean, running water

  • Dry your hands using a clean towel or an air dryer

And in the case soap and water are not available, you can use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. However, hand sanitizers are not as effective when hands are visibly dirty or greasy.

It’s recommended to wash your hands before and after eating or handling any food, after touching high traffic surfaces such as door handles, after using the restroom, after handling pets or any animals, or after sneezing/coughing. Long story short, just wash your hands regularly throughout your day.

Granted with all this washing, our concern was how dry our hands could get! That's why we created a hand wash that feels softening while you wash and nourishing after you're all done cleansing your hands.  Purebble hand wash is loaded with Hyaluronic Acid to replenish moisture lost during the cleaning process. Lose the germs but keep soft smooth skin, even during the cold winter months.
